Johannes (John) Nicholas Weisenauer and Mary Guinner Weisenauer married April 26, 1856 in Crawford Co., Ohio

 Johannes was born on May 22, 1833 (1832) in Bavaria, Germany and died September 9, 1908.
According to Family Tradition the following was recorded:  In the year 1832, the 23rd day of May at 7:00 a.m. appeared before me, Heinrich Daumen, Mayer of Reichenback, civil affairs officer of the crownship within the Rhin area of the Kingdome of Bayern, Franz Weisenauer, 42 years of age, farmer in Reichenbachsteegen, to register the child of male sex, born of the marriage between Franz and Elizabeth (Natter), 34 years of age.  This child was given the name of Johannes Nicholas Weisenauer.  This declaration is made in the presence of Phillip ?, 54 years of age, farmer in Reichenbach.  Johannes Nicholas Weisenauer was born May 22, 1832 at 7:00 p.m.  For some reason all of the U.S. records show his birth year as 1833 including his grave stone.  (per Goldie Weisenauer Singer)

Johannes immigrated to the U.S. around 1850 to 1853.  According to Family Tradition, Johannes came to America along with two other teenage men from Germany.  One young man was lost at sea.  They came across in a very small boat and landed at New Orleans.  The boy with John had relatives or friends living in Crawford County, Ohio so the two young men worked their way up to Ohio doing odd jobs.  (per Goldie Weisenauer Singer)

Johannes was a shoemaker.  According to Goldie Weisenauer Singer, Johannes made her brother, John Howard Weisenauer, a pair of boots.  John Howard was Johannes' first great grandson and Johannes wanted him to be named John.  John Howard was born November 15, 1907 and Johannes died September 9, 1908.
